Clog, Cow Fur, Black-and-White:
Handmade clog "cow fur" made of black-and-white full cowhide leather. Since our clogs are special, we would like to point out their qualities.

The sole:
The sole consists of alder, which is a hard, yet light wood. This guarantees that none of the staples fixing the leather upper to the soles will come loose. A stable synthetic grip sole keeps the wood safe from dampness and prevents slipping. The wooden sole is ergonomically formed.

The leather upper:
Our clogs are, unlike most, made of full cowhide leather (2,2 mm). Full cowhide leather has the advantage of being extremely absorbent and therefore reduces perspiration. It is also very robust and easily adjusts to the individual foot form.

Definition and history of clogs:

Clogs are slip-on unisex shoes with solid, mostly wooden, soles. Originally, clogs were special working shoes with a wooden bottom. They originate in England but found their biggest distribution via Sweden. The always closed toe cap was formerly made of leather, linen or raffia. Nowadays all kinds of upper materials are possible, but they are still stapled to the side of the thick wooden sole. This simple method saves material and makes the clog an inexpensive shoe.
"Relatives" of the clog are the Danish closed-back clog and the Dutch wooden clog.
During the 1970s and 1980s, clogs were highly fashionable. But long after that, they continue to be worn by medical staff as a working shoe. Clogs are also very popular with kitchen staff. (Source: Wikipedia.de)
